Small SUV car reviews

The RAV4 is comfortable, quiet, and delivers plenty of electric range. But flair is an alien construct here

The styling won't be for everyone, but it's not actually ugly and definitely not boring (which would be much, much worse)

It's a top seller because it's amazingly cheap, not because it's in any way excellent

The Audi Q4 e-tron is a useful family SUV that just happens to be electric

The Vauxhall Frontera Electric stands out for its bargain price tag, but it's got more going for than that

The Nissan Qashqai is unrelentingly popular because it's fairly priced and people trust the badge. Exciting it ain't, though

The Buick Enclave is a perfectly serviceable utility vehicle with a touch of quality, but not nearly enough to justify the price tag

Latest Vauxhall Grandland is an improvement, but it's not very exciting

A pleasing step on from the car it replaces. Won't please the enthusiasts, but it will please those watching the pennies

The Tonale is styled and engineered with more verve than most of its rivals. Not perfect, but no crossovers are

Swaggering family lux-bus drives appropriately. One of the passengers will need a comfort break long before it needs a recharge

It looks the part and it's fun to drive, but Abarth’s 600e can't escape its roots

The latest Mazda CX-5 is a familiar recipe, the verve of its predecessor has gone AWOL

Audi’s best-selling model is back for a third generation, but we miss the old interior

Noisy and inefficient in its pure combustion form. Omoda's first car to the UK is certainly not its best work

Everything you need is in the Dacia Duster, and a lot of what you don't, isn't. Good

The new T-Roc will impress owners of the old T-Roc – and there are plenty of them

The 7 might just be Omoda’s best car yet. It’s not perfect, but the price will worry mainstream manufacturers

There’s nothing overtly terrible about the Jaecoo E5… but there’s nothing compelling either. You’ll buy it with your wallet not your heart

Do you know someone who owns a Jaecoo 5? Offer them a hot beverage and a consoling hug. There, there

Little for a car enthusiast here. But to a switcher to EVs, or to Chinese brands, the package is reassuring
