This is the new, facelifted Citroen C5 Aircross

Citroen wants the C5 Aircross to move upmarket with this latest update

Published: 12 Jan 2022

Nope, we’re not having you on – this really is the facelifted Citroen C5 Aircross. It may not look much different to its predecessor, but Citroen just wants to keep things fresh whilst taking it a little more upmarket.

Its face has been tidied up slightly with more angular lines and a less fussy grille and air intakes, whilst both the front and rear lights get new LED signatures. There are new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheel designs too, plus a narrower range of body and accent colours. Yep, you can only really get the C5 Aircross in white, black, grey or navy these days. Shame, but Citroen says it all adds up to give the C5 Aircross a “more mature” look.

Thankfully the Airbumps remain, as does the chrome C shape surrounding the side windows. Both nice touches, those.

The interior looks much more premium, with a larger 10-inch infotainment screen sitting above a new (but crucially still button-filled) centre console. The digital dials are now displayed on a massive 12.3-inch screen that’s fully customisable. Oh, and there’s the latest generation of ‘Citroen Advanced Comfort seats’ – good to see Citroen’s roots aren’t being forgotten.

And that’s about it for updates if we’re honest. It looks as though the powertrains will remain the same, with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid options available across Europe. Citroen says plug-in hybrids now make up more than 30 per cent of C5 Aircross sales, by the way.

What do you think of the new look?
