What should I be paying?

Standard equipment on the two iX2 models include 19in M double-spoke bicolour wheels. An M Sport package is available which adds larger side air intakes, body coloured sill extensions and side skirts, gloss black ‘Shadowline’ trim, a rear diffuser, and adaptive suspension.

Inside you get sports seats, Alcantara-covered instrument panel, anthracite-coloured headlining, and an M leather steering wheel with shift paddles. The M Sport Pro package adds more M kit, including uprated brakes. As ever, the list is long and sometimes pricey.

BMW says it now has the world’s largest over-the-air upgradeable vehicle fleet, with more than five million on the roads. BMW’s Connected Drive Upgrades allows owners a free, one-month trial of selected functions, such as remote engine start and high beam assistant.

Go for the Digital Premium service and you’ll get all the Apps you need for music and video streaming, and the Air Console turns users’ smartphones into controllers for in-car gaming. This obviously varies depending on territory. Or your tolerance level when it comes to your kids hijacking the car’s display for Super Mario.

Digital Premium also boosts the functionality of BMW Maps and adds Expressive, Relax and Digital Art to the MyModes menu.

BMW’s Connected Home Charging package automatically adapts to the available power, ensuring that the maximum is provided. If you have solar panels, the system leans on their energy provision. Later in 2024, a cost-optimised home charging package will be available, and a multi-contract function allows the car to store up to five individual plug-and-charge providers. So no messing around with endless apps.
