Video: the Ferrari FF on ice
Our first taste of the Ferrari FF was on a frozen lake in Arjeplog, Northern Sweden. There, we became the first website in the world to get behind the wheel of the 660bhp four-wheel-drive Ferrari.
Since, it has wormed its considerable girth into our affections. Yes, it is a proper Ferrari. It's got a 6.3-litre V12, for goodness sake, and, as we found out when we named it our 2011 Rear of the Year, is a magnificent, bombastic companion.
Now, being the first ever four-wheel-drive Ferrari is a Big Deal. Like we said, our first taste was on that frozen lake in Sweden. Turns out Ferrari is quite fond of this lake, because it has just invited former World Rally Champion Markku Alen to hotfoot the FF on that very same bit of snow.
And because its full of snow, it's the perfect test for Ferrari's 4RM four-wheel-drive system. Suffice to say, Markku noted the FF was "especially enjoyable to drive".
