It's the last ever Dodge Demon (sob)
The 840bhp Challenger that does wheelies bows out in a very special way
This, girls and boys, is the very last Dodge Demon. That's the bad news. It rolled off Dodge’s Ontario production line yesterday, and the good news is you can still buy it.
It’s being auctioned as a pair with the last ever Dodge Viper, and we dearly hope both are off to live their lives on drag strips and race circuits. If that means having a TopGear.com readership whip-round so we all collectively own them (taking turns each weekend, of course) then so be it.
The Challenger-based Demon, if you needed any reminder, is an 840bhp street-legal drag specialist. It’ll accelerate to 60mph in 2.3secs and is the world’s only production car capable of actual wheelies. It’s only been in production for a year, during which it’s been limited to 3,300 cars.
None will be as sought after as this one, mind, though it’s not finished yet. While it’s left Dodge's Canadian factory painted black, it’ll be hand-painted Viper Red (to match its auction-mate) and fitted with lots of drag-racing equipment and Demon badging before going under the hammer for charity. Better register to bid, eh?
