Hennessey reveals $3m, sold-out Venom F5 Revolution Roadster
It’s the roofless version of Hennessey’s track-honed 1,817bhp hypercar
Hennessey’s Venom F5 continues to evolve in startling new ways, and today we see its latest iteration. This is the track-honed Venom F5 Revolution Roadster, combining the V8 fury of the ‘regular’ roofless F5, and track-honed smarts of the Revolution Coupe revealed earlier this year.
As one would expect of such a car, then, there’s an enormous focus on aero, along with a few tweaks to the F5 Roadster’s roof to allow for, well, ‘fury’. Because this F5, like all F5s, still carries the 6.6-litre twin-turbo V8 monster beneath its carbon fibre flanks, rated at 1,817bhp.
Said tweaks to the roof include a re-engineered removable panel constructed from carbon fibre, insulated with Alcantara and featuring quick-release bolts and latches. It weighs just 8kg, too, so shouldn’t be a faff to take off.
Elsewhere you’ll spot the similar treatment as applied to the F5 Revolution Coupe: massive front and rear splitters, new dive planes on the front fascia, a central air scoop and of course, and new rear wing.
Though all four F5 variants share the same philosophy, each are said to accomplish specific ‘missions’, and the RR’s is to deliver a ‘visceral open-air motoring’ experience with an eye on the circuit.
“This first example, a bespoke build for a special client, debuts our bare carbon finish with its meticulous handcrafted exposed carbon-fibre weave,” explains boss John Hennessey. “Our hypercar is a timeless work of art that is as visually inspiring as it is physically engaging, thanks to its 1,817-hp combustion-only twin-turbocharged V8."
A work of art that’s unsurprisingly sold out. Each of the 12 F5 RR cars planned did cost $3m.
