Video: new SSC Tuatara pics

Published: 14 Nov 2011

This, you may remember, is the Shelby Super Cars (SSC) Tuatara. And we've just been sent a selection of new pictures. There's also a video slideshow, which you can watch by clicking below (sorry about the music).

You'd be forgiven for needing a little reminder about how important the Tuatara promises to be. If SSC's to be believed, it'll beat the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (which, of course, once made James the fastest man ever) and become the fastest production car in the world.

To heave itself up to the benchmark, it'll be using a 1,350bhp engine, which gets from 0-200 in under 16 seconds. You can see the Ultimate Aero (using the same engine) hooning here. And remember, before the Veyron SS came along, the Aero was the fastest road car in the world.

There's only one thing. As Jeremy pointed out on the show, it's pronounced TWA-tara. Does this earn it a place in our Best Worst Car Names in the History of Ever gallery?
