Mobile home? Dacia’s latest accessory turns your Jogger into a double bedroom

Forget the tent, make your Jogger the complete all-in-one adventurer with Dacia's 'Sleep Pack'

Published: 01 Mar 2023

Do you often take your family MPV out on adventures in the wilderness? Do those adventures often last longer than a single day, meaning you need somewhere to kip for a night? And do you also happen to hate sleeping in a tent? What an interesting life you lead. Please do write to us and tell us more about your exceptionally specific motoring requirements. Or you could just go out and buy a Dacia Jogger

You see, Dacia has unveiled its first in a series of ‘InNature’ accessories for the Jogger. It’s called the ‘Sleep Pack’ and it’s essentially a giant 50kg wooden box that fits in the boot of your Romanian MPV (once you’ve removed the third row of seats) and then folds out to become a double bed that’s almost two metres long and 1.3m wide.

The bed comes complete with a foam mattress and “a surprising 60cm of headroom” says Dacia. It can be assembled in “less than two minutes” and is described as being “simple, removable and affordable” although there’s no word on how much the camper kit will actually cost just yet. We do know that it’ll be available to order in the second quarter of this year, though.

Unlike the EGOE kit that we tested in the Skoda Enyaq last year, Dacia’s Sleep Pack doesn’t feature any kitchen accessories, but you do get 220-litres of storage inside the box itself. Oh, and we’re told that a “smart tent” will also be available soon, which connects to the Jogger’s open boot and should provide sleeping space for the whole family. There will also be proper blackout blinds for the Jogger’s windows to ensure maximum privacy…

Dacia Jogger, Duster, Sandero Stepway Extreme

The Sleep Pack is available with all Jogger trim levels, but it might work best with the also-new Extreme trim. Replacing Extreme SE on the Jogger and Duster (while coming straight in as top spec on the Sandero Stepway), Extreme adds Cedar Green paint with Copper Brown accents, as well as a topographical pattern inside and out.

It’s not quite all cosmetic though, because the front-wheel drive Jogger and Sandero Stepway also get the addition of ‘Extended Grip’ tech – essentially a mode that optimises the stability control for maximum traction on slippery surfaces. Plus there’s also a new hard-wearing material inside called MicroCloud, which despite its ruggedness is also “velvet-like” in feel.

So, you can now have a velvety bedroom that also doubles as a bargain people carrier. Sounds… interesting.
