Maserati has put its 483bhp 'Nettuno' V6 into its gorgeous new GranCabrio
Despite being the cheapest in the range, it’ll still shift to 62 in four seconds and top out at 186mph
Searching for a gorgeous two-door, four-seat convertible to rove around Monaco in? Welcome to Maserati’s latest 483bhp GranCabrio, which fills in as the lineup’s entry point.
It has the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 as the 542bhp ‘Trofeo’, though the detune makes it four-tenths slower to 62mph (four secs flat) while 10mph has been knocked off the top end for a vmax of 186. Still fast enough to ruin a well-crafted combover, mind.
Like the Trofeo, this one feeds that power through an eight-speed transmission and all-wheel drive, with adaptive damping and an e-diff likely cast in supporting roles. Air suspension will remain a standard fitting too; excellent news for one's bottom.
Inside, you'll find a trio of screens led by a 12.3in infotainment display, plus a steering wheel peppered with non-haptic buttons. With all that 3D-printed carbon and perforated leather, it certainly looks glam enough for the Riviera.
Pricing is yet to be revealed, but consider the Trofeo starts at £170k, and the tri-motor Folgore EV at £185k.
