Fiat dunked its CEO into a vat of orange paint to unveil the new 600e crossover
Our first proper look at Fiat’s electric crossover comes alongside a rather colourful stunt
“Fiat’s mission is not just to bring smart new solutions: it is also to bring some colour and optimism to a world that needs it.”
That’s the statement Fiat made under its new YouTube video – a video that sees CEO Olivier Francois dunked into a giant vat of orange paint.
Thankfully the aim wasn’t to give Francois a radioactive complexion. The boss was sat in Fiat’s new 600e crossover, and we can safely assume that grey paint won’t be an option when it’s eventually unveiled in full.
The promo video gives us our best look yet at the 600e, with rumours that it’ll be based on the same e-CMP Stellantis platform as the Jeep Avenger. We very much like that car with its 51kWh battery and 250-ish mile range, and from these glimpses it looks as though Fiat’s ‘take a 500 and make it bigger’ styling philosophy has translated better than it did with the old 500X.
Reckon Fiat can pull off a proper crossover this time around?
