Bisimoto will take this modified Tesla Model S Plaid drag racing
Noted tuner teams up with Unplugged Performance to build a really, really fast Tesla
Noted tuner Bizi Ezerioha – known as Bisimoto – has revealed his intention on going really, really fast down a regulation drag strip in a really, really non-regulation Tesla Model S. Yup, he’s taking the electric family saloon drag racing.
Though of course, this being Bisimoto means it is no ordinary electric family saloon. Bizi’s roped in Tesla specialists Unplugged Performance along for the (hot)ride, and the first details of the project have come to light.
Those being a set of staggered, lightweight 20in forged wheels paired with 275-wide front and 305-wide rear Toyo R888R tyres, all supplied by Unplugged. The firm has also given Bizi a set of billet adjustable rear camber and toe arms, a tow hitch kit and a specially designed, NHRA/IHRA-regulation parachute mount. This latter modification is for “cars that exceed 150mph in the quarter mile, a speed the Model S Plaid hits with ease”.
Though, we’ve not yet been given any powertrain details other than the fact they’re running… a Model S Plaid. As standard, the car gets a tri-motor setup and the equivalent of 1,020bhp. It’s a setup we found to be “the best electric powertrain in the world”. Should be sprightly enough for Bizi’s needs, then.
“We’re electrifying the drag strip,” said Bizi, “and Unplugged Performance is our secret weapon. Together, we’re rewriting the rules of what electric cars can do on the track.”
There’ll be further updates to come, so watch this space…
