Gaming: CSR2 lets you win Le Mans on a sly phone break in the office

Six Porsche models, six events and the Circuit de la Sarthe added to the mobile racer

Published: 08 Apr 2025

The nice thing about virtual racing is that you can make it as immersive (read: expensive) or as minimalist as you like. All sitting within the same broad sim racing church are the direct drive wheel users in their Playseats, and the mobile racers who set their purple sectors on their iPhones. And it’s the latter who’ll be pleased to hear that CSR2 just got a big drop of Le Mans-themed content.

Available now and running up until the chequered flag drops at the real Le Mans 24h on 15 June, Zynga’s latest update for its free-to-play racer includes the famous Circuit de la Sarthe itself and six new events to compete in there.

It’s also partnered with Porsche to bring some recognisable LMPs into the fold: the Porsche 917K, which won Le Mans in 1970, and the rather more recent Porsche 963 LMDh, currently competing in the WEC, have been announced so far, with four more on the roster.

If you haven’t tried CSR2 yet, don’t go in expecting a Le Mans Ultimate beater - this is definitely the more accessible, short form end of racing, since, y’know, you’re controlling the car with your phone’s touchscreen.

On the plus side, it means you can whip it out and load it up in between meetings that could have been emails and enjoy a snackable variety of Le Mans glory.
