This bike just set a Guinness World Record by going a really, really long way
The Verge Motorcycles TS Pro managed 193 miles on a single charge... and it still had juice left to burn
Verge Motorcycles has just scooped up a Guinness World Record for the longest electric bike journey on a single charge, with its TS Pro racking up 193 miles in 16 hours across London last month. That's some bladder control from the rider.
Yes, we know what you’re thinking: an average speed of 12mph isn’t much. But do remember this is London we’re talking about; thick congestion, five-second traffic lights and busy pedestrian crossings. And reckless pigeons, obviously.
What makes the achievement even more impressive is that the Pro still had seven per cent charge remaining in its 20.2kWh battery. That means it probably could’ve surpassed the 200-mile mark, had the team not stopped to “ensure the reliability of the data”. Fair dos, they could’ve just looped around Trafalgar Square at 1mph, but they didn’t. Probably because of the pigeons.
The Pro comes with a 137bhp hubless e-motor attached to the rear wheel, which puts out a quite ridiculous 738lb ft - enough to ward off even the mightiest Black Series Mercs. It also translates to a 0-62 time of 3.5s and a top speed of 124mph. Strong numbers, those.
Check out the official record attempt here, and then you can decide if the Pro is worth its £31,980 starting price or not.
